
Woodworkers assemble
IF woodwork is your passion, you are simply interested or would like to learn, come on down to the Lockyer Woodcrafters Group Open Day this Saturday October 3.
See some amazing wood objects and be dazzled by the colours and grain patterns of the variety of exotic timbers used.
Lockyer Woodcrafters treasurer, John Lowther, said members of the group will be giving displays on various items of woodcutting machinery at 24 Raillway st, Forest Hill from 8am until 3pm.
"Visitors can try their hand at scroll saws, band saws, wood blades, table saws, planer/thicknesser wood lathes and pyrography," he said.
There will be a quantity of woodwork that members have made for sale and there will be other woodwork that are more intricate on display but maybe not for sale. "The skills workshop will be by different woodcrafters' members who are more interested in that particular type of woodwork."
There will be sausage sizzle, by gold coin donation available on the day, other refreshments and a multi-draw raffle at $2 per ticket. being drawn.
