Woman off drugs, grog and off road

A WOMAN who was on a cocktail of alcohol and drugs will be off the roads for seven months.

Laureen Gaye Nicholson, 34, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence.

When pulled over at Wivenhoe Pocket she had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and had empty bottles in the car.

She told police she had drunk four premixed drinks and taken drugs the day before.

She tested positive to amphetamines and methamphetamines and had a blood alcohol reading of 0.066%.

Nicholson told Magistrate Michael Quinn she no longer took drugs or drank, and when asked if she had learnt a lesson she replied "well and truly."

Mr Quinn fined her $750 and disqualified for seven months.
