Woman in intensive care after crash near Grandchester

27-YEAR-old Laidley State High School teacher Sophie Bachmann has been seriously injured following a single vehicle traffic crash on Tuesday morning along Rosewood Laidley Road.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was travelling west on the road when she came off the road and rolled down an embankment and collided with a gum tree and a post.

She sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the PA hospital where she underwent surgery for serious head, chest and arm injuries.

She is currently in intensive care.

Investigations are ongoing and police are interviewing witnesses.

Laidley Senior Sergeant Jim McDonald said their thoughts are with her and her family.
