UPDATE 3.45PM: Police are piecing together the final movements of a woman found dead in West Creek early yesterday morning.
Darling Downs Detective Inspector Dave Isherwood said investigations revealed the woman, 69, left work on Stenner St at 2.30am and began walking home through the park.
He said an extensive door-knock of the area had failed to turn up new information or uncover witnesses, but police were working on a timeframe the woman entered the water sometime between 2.45am and 3am.
A time of death has not been established.
Det. Insp. Isherwood said a cause of death was yet to be determined but the woman had suffered no signs of trauma.
"There is no physical evidence suggesting violence has been perpetrated on the deceased person which makes it more a death by misadventure than by intervention of a third party," he said.
Police renewed an appeal for information from any member of the public who may have seen the woman in West Creek between 2.45am and 4am to come forward.
Information can be reported anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
