Woman allegedly steals car after fry-pan assault threat

POLICE are searching for a woman who allegedly stole a car after holding up the victim with a fry pan.

A police spokesman said the incident occurred about 6pm Friday night when a 58-year-old woman was approached outside Mooloolaba State School on Douglas St.

He said the accussed was holding a frying pan and used it to threaten the victim while asking to hand over car keys.

The woman was last seen taking off in 2000 Honda Civic at high speed.

The car was later located about midnight on Saturday on William St, Alexandra Headland.

A description of the accused was yet to be released by police but anyone with information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
