Woman allegedly kicked and beaten

POLICE have charged a 26-year-old man following the serious assault of a woman at a Balmoral residence in the early hours of this morning.

It will be alleged around 2.30am a 27-year-old woman was kicked and assaulted at the Andrew Street address.

She was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital suffering serious internal injuries.

The man and woman are known to each other.

A 26-year-old Balmoral man has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 4.
