HEARTLAND is the output of wine "identities" Grant Tilbrook, Scott Collett and Ben Glaetzer. Grant worked with Scott at McLaren Vale's Woodstock winery and while Ben Glaetzer's home is in the Barossa, he invests his winemaking efforts further south at Langhorne Creek for Heartland. These wines continue the trend of showing the potential of the region's fruit without the price tags of more celebrated South Australian neighbours.

Italian D.O.C (winemaking) laws forbid grapes from different regions to "marry." This label celebrates the freedom of grapes to choose their own relationships. Purchases support Australian Marriage Equality. Herby and earthy spiced nose plumped with rich Christmas plum pudding and blackberry. Fun, dark and protein-friendly.
Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013
A blue-gold medal winner at the 2017 Sydney International Wine Competition where all wines are judged with food. Matured in a mix of 80% French and 20% American oak. Damson plum, blackberry, coffee, roasting pan juice, cedar and a hint of vanilla bean. The fine sandy tannins give a gentle ride and make this immediately approachable.
Director's Cut, Shiraz, 2014
One of the flagship wines for Heartland, yet still modestly priced. Almost opaque in the glass. Spiced and woody nose reflecting the new oak barrel maturation. Hidden underneath is a melange of dark berries, clove stud spice, bluestone rocks and blossom. Thick and inky on the palate, the black fruit feels like decoration across a plank of firm tannins. Powerfully built for cellaring. Ensure decanting or drinking the second day after opening for early consumption.
