Lindsay Lohan's tweets start a Sandy storm of their own
CELEBRITY problem child Lindsay Lohan has hit the headlines again for questioning everyone panicking about the Hurricane Sandy.
"Why is everyone in such a panic about hurricane (i'm calling it Sally)..?)," Lohan tweeted.
"Stop projecting negativity! Think positive and pray for peace."
The comments prompted a tirade of abuse from fellow Twitters - and some support.
Former soap star Joan Collins was at least a little funnier, tweeting: "This is a true state of emergency...Starbucks is closed!!"
Ivanka Trump was a little more useful for journalists, posting a series of photos of the storm clouds over New York.
Making journos jobs a little more difficult were the scores of people posting fake photos of Frankenstorm, ranging from storm clouds over New York to reposting an old image of a shark in floodwaters.
One even superimposed a TV news overlay on a shot from the movie, the Day After Tomorrow.
Some got a lot more creative, adding a little Gangnam style to the Sandy storm coverage.
Needless to say, there was only one word that mattered in the Twitterverse today - Sandy - even if Lindsay Lohan started #hurricanesassy to mix it up.
