Warwick man hospitalised after violent house break-in
POLICE are on the hunt for five men who allegedly attacked a Warwick man in his home, leaving the 25-year-old with fractured bones and possible head injuries.
Armed with bats and dressed in balaclavas and dark clothing, the group staged a targeted break-in on Anders Ct about 12am yesterday, according to police.
Warwick detective Darren Tamblyn said the group broke into the house and assaulted a 25-year-old man before stealing his car, iPad and mobile phone.
The 25-year-old man was taken to Warwick Hospital with substantial injuries.
A 23-year-old woman was also in the house at the time but did not have any interaction with the alleged offenders.
Detective sergeant Tamblyn said police were investigating possible motives behind the targeted attack and appealed to the community for information.
"The vehicle was apparently seen in Bracker Rd that evening, driving without the lights on," he said.
"We believe they headed off toward the direction of Warwick Killarney Rd. It is probably still in the vicinity of Warwick, most likely abandoned."
The stolen vehicle is described as a silver 2001 V8 Holden commodore sedan with a registration number 465YNU.
Anyone with information is urged to phone Warwick police on 4660 4444.
