Warwick man in custody for alleged rape on weekend

UPDATE: A WARWICK man is in police custody, charged with the alleged rape of a woman at the weekend.

The 28-year-old is accused of attacking the 51-year-old Warwick woman in her home in the early hours of Saturday morning.

CCTV was used by police to help track down the man they believed to be responsible.

The accused rapist fronted Warwick Magistrates Court this morning, where Magistrate Bevan Manthey ordered the man remanded in custody until his next court appearance.

He will front court again on June 23.

 

8:47AM - A 28-YEAR-old man is in custody in Warwick for an alleged rape over the weekend.

Police were called to the home of a Warwick woman at 10am on Saturday morning.

Police investigations are continuing.
