Iro might leave Warriors after missing out on coaching spot

WARRIORS assistant coach Tony Iro looks set to move on after being overlooked for the head coaching role at the Auckland-based club.

Iro has been linked with the Sydney Roosters where he spent time as a player in the 1990s.

He still has two years remaining on his Warriors contract, but has not committed to stay on under new coach Matthew Elliott.

Speculation suggests Iro will head back to the Roosters where he would rejoin close friend Craig Walker who has also returned to the Roosters after a stint at the Warriors.

Iro has been with the Warriors since 2005 and is extremely popular with the players.
