Warrego Highway chase ends with three arrests
A WILD police chase that started in Minden has ended with the arrest of three people in Goodna overnight.
The drama started around 7.20pm, when police on patrol on the Warrego Highway observed a Mitsubishi Magna that was known to have been stolen.
Police followed the vehicle onto Lowood Minden Road where they activated their lights and sirens, however police said the vehicle sped away.
Police then tasked their two helicopters Polair 1 and Polair 2 to follow the vehicle as it drove through Springfield.
There police set a trap with tyre spikes, and the vehicle eventually stopped at Cross Street, Goodna.
Police said the three occupants of the car fled the scene on foot and two men and a woman were located nearby a short time later.
An 18-year-old Collingwood Park man has been charged with two counts of failure to stop a motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified and obstruct police.
A 23-year-old Westlake man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police.
A 19-year-old Riverview woman has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
