Wallabies fans head to UK to support boys in Rugby World Cup
TOOWOOMBA couple Emily Durkin and Terry Harvey will head to the United Kingdom this weekend to cheer on the Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup in a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
The World Cup starts tomorrow before Australia plays its first game against Fiji in Cardiff next Thursday (AEST).
They will be there for that along with the Wallabies against Uruguay and South Africa versus United States, while Harvey will also be in the stands for the Wallabies' vital pool game against Wales.
The World Cup pilgrimage has been a long time coming.
"It is very exciting. It has been in the planning for over a year now," Durkin said.
"We ordered our tickets in August last year."
Darling Downs representative rugby union player Harvey thought the Wallabies could make an impact at the World Cup if they could first progress through a tough pool also featuring hosts England and Wales along with Fiji.
The Wallabies are ranked No.2 in the world, with England No.4, Wales fifth and Fiji ranked ninth in the world.
"I think if they get out of the pool stages they'll do pretty well," he said.
