Voice of Siri sings at State of Origin game

KAREN Jacobsen, who voices Siri for Apple, sang the national anthem at the State of Origin game in Brisbane.

Ms Jacobsen, who grew up in Mackay, is now based in New York.

She not only features as the voice of Siri for Apple but also GPS programs.

Her calming tones, as the voice of Siri, are heard around the world on 400 million GPS units and mobile devices.  

She packed up and went to the US 15 years ago to try to make it as a professional singer.  

Ms Jacobsen has also previously released a Christmas album and performed at the Melbourne Christmas Carols.
