Local Branch secretary Joyce Ridgway said this was the first time in five years the national rally had come back to Queensland it was a first ever for Gatton.

"This event has been two years in the planning," Joyce said.

She said they were expecting 40 cars from across the nation and they had a busy week of local attractions planned for the visitors.

"We'll take them to Pohlman's Nursery on the first day, then a day trip to Brisbane before we do a big loop of local attractions on the Saturday including Wivenhoe," she said.

"Sunday (January 5) is our display day and people are welcome to come down to check out all the cars."

Joyce said the cars would be on display on the lawn between the Cultural centre and the Historical Society grounds from mid-morning onwards.
