ANGE Postecoglou, it seems, is a hard man to please.
The Melbourne Victory coach lambasted his players despite watching his team play some sparkling football and score three goals in a commanding 70 minutes against the Wellington Phoenix at Etihad Stadium.
It was the final 20 minutes which upset Postecoglou as two splendid Jeremy Brockie strikes brought the Phoenix back to 3-2.
"You're left with a negative at the end and that sits in your gut a little bit," he said.
"We're working really hard on a style of play and being disciplined about it and we veered away from that."
Victory held on for its second win of the season, climbing off the bottom of the table to sixth place.
The home side played some excellent football for most of the contest with Marcos Rojas celebrating his 21st birthday in style with two goals, both superbly set up by Archie Thompson.
In between there was some South American brilliance between Marcos Flores and Gui Finkler who combined for Flores to score a remarkable goal.
