A COMPILATION album entitled We Won't Forget Ya, Mate! has been put together for the purpose of raising funds and awareness of the Lights on the Hill Trucking Memorial at Gatton.
After the tremendous success of Volume 1, there is much anticipation and excitement for the release of this latest album.
The artists have donated their songs, their talents and their time to contribute to this collection which has something for everyone.
The album starts off with the poem by Lea Enchelmaier, Remembering Our Truckies, now more frequently referred to as the Truckies' Poem.
And between this apt start to the album, and the concluding song, We Won't Forget Ya, Mate! composed and sung by Kathy Sunners specifically for this series, there is a tremendous collection of music, poems and yarns.
There are instrumentals, toe-tapping songs, ballads, long-standing favourites such as Six Days on the Road, Folsom Prison Blues and Boppin' the Blues, and a number of original songs.
The Lights on the Hill organisation helps support the families of these drivers who have passed away and recognises the tremendous contribution the truckies make to keep this country moving.
Details about the album and the wall are available from Kathy White, founder and co-ordinator of the organisation on (07) 5465 6044 or email@example.com
