Unemployment rate remains level at 5.4 per cent
UNEMPLOYMENT remained steady at 5.4% in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics has revealed.
The ABS reported the number of people in work increased by 10,700 for the month, while the number of unemployed people decreased by 8800 people.
While the seasonally adjusted unemployment figure was down marginally, the rounded estimate remained unchanged at 5.4%.
The labour force participation rate decreased by 0.1% to 65.1%.
Queensland's unemployment rate dropped 0.5% to 5.7%, while in New South Wales there was a 0.2% drop to 5.1%.
