Undercover cop catches alleged female robber in the act

SHE allegedly tried to rob a service station with screwdrivers, but the plan quickly fell apart.

Police say at 10.30pm a woman entered a Sunnybank Hills service station on Pinelands Road and picked up two screw drivers from a stock shelf, threatened the attendant and demanded money.

An off-duty police officer has entered the store and became aware of the robbery, identified himself and challenged the woman to surrender the weapon.

The officer used a store display to overcome the offender where she was disarmed and arrested.

A 20-year-old Oxenford woman has been charged with attempted armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit an indictable offence and is expected to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court later today.

Neither of the officer or employee were physically harmed.
