Two trucks destroyed by fire overnight, police investigate

MACKAY Police are investigating after two prime movers were destroyed by fire at a holding yard in Paget overnight.

Around 11pm police and fire crews responded to reports of the vehicles being engulfed in flames at the Connors Road premises.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire was put out quickly.

"We sent three fire crews and they were home again within an hour and a quarter," she said.  

Two prime movers, in different areas of the holding yard, were destroyed in the blaze while another sustained damage.

Police are treating the incident as suspicious and are urging anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
