Two men have faced court after horror machete attack on mum
TWO men charged over a violent robbery that left a Coombabah mother with horrific facial injuries after being sliced with a machete in her own home have faced a Gold Coast court.
Clint Hall, 35, and Thomas Ealam, 18, appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning charged with two counts of acts intended to maim and stealing following the early Saturday morning attack that left Ingrid Brown, 35, with a mouth-to-ear gash.
The two men allegedly arrived at the home Ms Brown shared with her partner, Michael Liddell, about 2am Saturday and tried to steal items from the Kangaroo Av property.
Ms Brown and Mr Liddell had words with the men and they left, but less than two hours later they allegedly returned armed with machetes.
During the attack Mr Liddell suffered a cut to his forearm, while Ms Brown's face was seriously slashed, requiring major reconstructive surgery.
Hall appeared briefly in the dock this morning in a white smock.
He had a bandage to his ear and a black eye.
He made no application for bail and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on September 12.
Ealam also made no application for bail and will appear in court again on Wednesday.
