Trump supporters claiming Samara Weaving as victim

Trump supporters are sharing a photo on Twitter of what's supposed to be a fellow supporter who was beaten and bloodied by anti-Trump protesters.

Several pictures of supporters are circulating online sporting post-rally injuries, and this new picture would be a harrowing one, depicting a young woman covered in blood and bruises - except that it's actually a photo of former Home and Away star Samara Weaving.

Weaving played Indi Walker in the Aussie soap and, when the Trump picture was taken, she was in full make-up for Ash vs Evil Dead, which is filming here in New Zealand.

The original photograph was posted to social media by Weaving and her Auckland-based make-up artist Hannah Wilson earlier this year, as the horror comedy was filming.

But it turns out this isn't the first time Trump supporters have taken an actress's photo out of context.

At the weekend, another woman who appeared to be badly beaten in a rally was revealed by to have actually been taken from a Mexican telenovela called La Rosa de Guadalupe.
