Elderly woman in hospital after car, truck collision

UPDATE: An elderly woman has been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on the Gore Hwy this morning.

The woman was taken to Toowoomba Hospital as a precaution from the collision scene involving two cars and a truck in the 90kmh zone of the Gore Hwy past Drayton.

Emergency services shut the highway to secure the crash scene and police were called to monitor traffic which became heavily congested in both directions.

No other persons is believed to have been injured in the crash.

One car overturned on impact, leaving it on its side off the highway.

The elderly woman was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

8.55AM: Three vehicles have collided on Toowoomba's western outskirts this morning, causing traffic chaos.

Two vehicles and a truck have reportedly collided on Anzac Ave past Bunnings at Drayton about 8.45am.

One of the vehicles are sideways across the Gore Hwy, blocking traffic in both directions.

Police have been called to provide urgent traffic control.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are on scene and are inspecting the damage.
