Tributes flowing for 58-year-old man killed at work

TRIBUTES are flowing on social media for a 58-year-old Buderim man killed in a workplace accident at Palmview yesterday.

The man had been standing at the rear of his work van when a passing truck's stabiliser struck the front of his van.

The impact pushed the work van over the man, leaving him with serious injuries.

The accident occurred about 9.45am yesterday at a Spinifex Street address in the Harmony housing estate.

Police arrived and attempted to free the man as best they could before paramedics began resuscitation efforts, but the man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The community has taken to social media to express its sadness and pay respects to the man.

"So very sad for all concerned," Lynda Riddiford-steer wrote.

"Condolences to his family and friends, RIP," Jackie Jones wrote.

"How tragic. Condolences to the man's family and friends," Chantelle Butler-Garden wrote.

Forensic police were continuing to investigate the incident and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is also investigating.
