Tributes for murdered Thangool man flow

FRIENDS of Central Queensland man Travis Davis yesterday described him as a "caring, loving young man", taken too soon.

More than 260 people took to Facebook in just 24 hours to share their heartache over the loss of the 28-year-old, who went missing in mid-October.

The Thangool man's remains were discovered in bushland west of Cairns on Sunday.

A 19-year-old man was charged with murder in relation to his death, while a 19-year-old woman faces an accessory charge.

Comments, from close friends and perfect strangers, flooded a Facebook page started by his family at the time of his disappearance.

"Always gave and never expected," one woman wrote.

"You always walked through our door with your infectious smile. All the kids loved you cause you truly were a big kid at heart yourself."

Another friend said: "I remember him as such a bubbly, mischievous person from our school days."

Mr Davis's sister thanked everyone for their kind words on her own Facebook page, but was clearly still coming to terms with the loss. "It's still not real and I don't think it ever will be," she wrote. Investigations into his death continue.
