IN a further push to promote domestic tourism, Sunlover Holidays announced the appointment of travel journalist David Reyne as the new ambassador for its Sunlover Holidays and Travelpoint Holidays brands.
With over 14 years as a presenter on Australia’s most revered travel show Getaway, and as a regular contributor to various travel publications, David is known throughout Australia for his expertise on all things leisure holiday related.
Sunlover Holidays General Manager Leanne Chard said that David’s appointment is the next step in the company’s long-term commitment to being the Australian travel experts.
“We know that domestic tourism is flat but it’s still the biggest part of the tourism industry. In 2010 the total value of domestic tourism was over $70 billion and interstate travel expenditure by residents of New South Wales and Victoria alone was over $10 billion. We’re an Australian-owned company and we love selling Australian destinations so we’ve given our branding a change of direction, added a new tagline ‘Love Australia’ and asked David to be the public face of our brands” Ms Chard said.
“We hope that in a time where the spotlight has been shining on overseas travel that David’s appointment will help us highlight the variety of amazing Australian holiday destinations and experiences available through the Sunlover and Travelpoint brands.”
David will appear in a number of Sunlover Holidays marketing campaigns in both print, TV, radio and digital and will also participate in industry presentations to Sunlover’s key distribution partners.
The Sunlover Holiday’s endorsement is a first for the Australian personality who has previously turned down other travel endorsements.

I'm honoured to add all the passion, emotion and prowess I can muster to Sunlover's enthusiasm to inspire travellers to discover more of the most breathtaking country on the planet; Australia,” Mr Reyne said.
“So with a new brand ambassador at the wheel we are really looking forward to a great year of promotion for Sunlover Holidays and home-grown Australian holidays,” Ms Chard said.
