ANTI-PORN RALLY: 'Say no to pornography in Toowoomba'

A CONSERVATIVE MP who spoke about her former husband's child porn stash in Victorian Parliament will front a rally against pornography in Toowoomba.

Victorian MP Dr Rachel Carling-Jenkins made the stunning speech in the Victorian Upper House recently.

The Australian Conservatives MP said she had been "overwhelmed" by the response by fellow MPs, police officers and members of the public after her interview on A Current Affair last month.

She spoke with Tracy Grimshaw about why she felt that the fate of the girls involved in the porn industry was more important than her marriage and why some people think she should have stayed silent.

Dr Carling-Jenkins will be speaking at A City Free from Porn rally where Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor Paul Antonio is calling for the people of Toowoomba to make a stand for healthy families and individuals by saying no to pornography.

The occasion is designed to raise awareness of the harm porn brings to relationships, society and especially to young people, believing it is normal because of exposure on the internet.

Help is also offered to those wanting to be free from porn addiction.

All are welcome to the event at the Civic Park (grass area beside the library) on October 27 between 7-8am.

A Barbecue breakfast and coffee will be available for purchase.

Cr Antonio last year led calls for Toowoomba men to give up porn.
