Finn still faces multiple surgery dates

FINN Smith spent three hours in surgery on Wednesday as doctors investigated the extent of his injuries, cleaned wounds and "removed dead skin".

While no major surgery was undertaken, the family has received the unfortunate news more surgery than expected would still be needed.

They have asked for time to discuss the extent of the injuries with family and friends first.

Mrs Smith said the results were "not as hopeful as they had thought".

The 13-month-old Pacific Paradise toddler can expect to be wheeled into surgery twice a week for the next three or four months as doctors continue to try to rectify the damage caused by the deadly meningococcal.
