OPPOSITION MP Tim Mander has broken down in tears while delivering an emotional speech on the "no body, no parole" legislation before State Parliament.

The Opposition Police and Corrections spokesman was brought to tears while telling of meeting the Pullen family of Mackay, who have not been able to bury their son Tim because his body has not been found.

Mr Mander said the Pullens had reminded him of his own family.

"We were very fortunate, my wife and I, to share a table with the Pullens at a homicide victims support group night not that long ago," he said.
