Tigers set to talk contracts with star players

RICHMOND is expected to begin contract discussions with captain Trent Cotchin and All-Australian defender Alex Rance prior to the end of pre-season training.

The pair is among a host of star players due to become free agents at the end of the 2015 season, and the club is determined to keep them.

Tigers football manager Dan Richardson told afl.com.au the club would not provide a running commentary on contract talks.

"There's been no discussion on either of them as yet, but I'm sure there will be, hopefully prior to the season starting," Richardson said.

Meanwhile, the Western Bulldogs and Gold Coast Suns are expected to start interviewing candidates for their vacant head coaching roles this week. Bulldogs assistant Brett Montgomery is favoured to take the role, made vacant when Brendan McCartney stepped down earlier this month.
