Three men armed with spear gun rob property while woman home

THREE men have entered a Mackay residence and stolen a quantity of property while a woman was at home.

The men, one armed with what is believed to be a spear gun, entered a Holland Street home at 4.20pm.

A 51-year-old woman home at the time was not physically injured.

However, a 51-year-old male has been taken to hospital after trying to stop two of the men stealing his vehicle.

The male arrived at the address, parking behind the trio's vehicle in the driveway.

One man then left the house on foot, while the other two got in the 51-year-old man's car.

The man threw himself onto the bonnet of his vehicle and was driven into the street.

He sustained multiple injuries after falling from the moving car and was transported to Mackay Base Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The trio's original vehicle was left at the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
