The Star farewells mate

ALLAN Wheatley was responsible for the delivery of the Star throughout the Lockyer Valley for many years.

He was the most loyal to the Star and always had his finger on the pulse as to what was going on in the region.

He handled complaints from residents and mail persons in a most competent manner.

He was always friendly and highly valued by the Star and the community.

Marj Muckert, former General Manager of the Star, also spoke highly of Allan.

“He was in charge of all the people who delivered the papers and was very diligent,” Marj said.

“He was absolutely great when he worked for us.

“He knew what was happening and was a very loyal employee and always had his finger on the pulse with the mail contractors and what was happening in the area.

“He handled everything and made it a lot easier for me, making sure the paper got out there.

“He was always a true gentleman.”
