What is it that makes us enjoy live music photographs? Personally, I think it is that ability to study someone who seems to have tapped into pure passion. An almost out of body experience of sorts. The frozen moment in time is more poignant than a moving image and it directly contrasts with the loud, vibrant, energetic and sometimes chaotic world of the live music venue. It is a moment that you cannot perceive while at the gig. Only once the event has faded into your memories can you then look at a photo in silence, still and notice tiny details that tell a story. I think all fans of music believe that artists have tapped into something greater than themselves. And it is for this very reason that we watch, adore and study their lives.
