Teens charged over suspected firearm incident

TWO teenage boys have been charged in relation to an incident in Morayfield last month involving a suspected firearm.

On Saturday November 29 at 4pm, two males were seen acting suspiciously within the grounds of a Morayfield Road car yard and service station, armed with what appeared to be a firearm.

Later investigations found this to be a replica firearm.

A 15-year-old Morayfield boy and a 17-year-old Bellmere man have each been charged with one count of going armed so as to cause fear.

The boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.

The 17-year-old is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on December 18.

Detectives continue to investigate a similar incident earlier that morning, where two people, armed with what is believed to have been a firearm, threatened two young teenage boys who were riding skateboards.

The two skateboarders ran to seek refuge at a service station at the intersection of Morayfield and Walkers roads.

It is believed that the two skateboarders could assist police with their investigations and are urged to contact police.
