
Teen dies after being thrown from ute
A TEENAGER has died after he was thrown from the back of a ute on North Stradbroke Island.
Police were called to the scene along Main Beach about 2am.
The 19-year-old from Point Lookout died at the scene.
The driver and his four passengers were not injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Meanwhile, a man is in critical condition after the car he was in ran into a tree near Logan.
Police were called to the accident at 12.03am where the single vehicle had veered off the road before colliding with a tree along Waterford Tamborine Rd in Buccan.
The male passenger, whose age has not been disclosed, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The teenage driver was also taken to hospital however a Police spokeswoman said she did not believe his injuries were critical.
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
