Teenager, 14, robbed for his backpack and shoes

A TEENAGER had his backpack and shoes stolen in the Cairns suburb of Woree by a group of youths armed with scissors.

The 14-year-old victim was approached by three offenders about 4pm on Shannons Drive.

One offender was armed with scissors.

Police dog squad searched for the youths for almost an hour in the area before one male was arrested.

No one was injured and the other two offenders have not been found by police.

Police recovered the stolen items and returned them to the victim.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
