Team Tassie can't stand the heat of Queensland holiday home

CASSIE and Matt were the team to beat in the second round of House Rules.

But the couple from Tasmania went from the top of the leader board to elimination after a grueling seven-day renovation of a Queensland holiday home to be given away to one of the reality show's viewers.

A major blow-up saw Cassie and Matt come undone in the days leading up to the reveal of their zone, which included the kitchen and front yard.

"Matt and I came into this competition to do our absolute best; to try our hardest each week; to always strive and to not have any regrets at all," a tearful Cassie said.

"We've had so much fun; we didn't want it to end."

In contrast, two teams received perfect scores of 20 from judges Joe Snell and Wendy Moore.

Brisbane's Ben and Danielle impressed with the graphic wallpaper in their bathroom and the beautiful simplicity and functionality of the back deck.

Victorians Bronik and Corrine also received perfect scores for the tropical resort feeling of their living room and their secret outdoor shower.

The four remaining teams will now renovate each others' front and backyards as the show enters its final weeks.

House Rules continues tonight at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
