Sylvester Stallone afraid of getting wife wound up
SYLVESTER Stallone finds it "hard to get men to like" him.
The 68-year-old actor believes action stars like himself are "the hardest characters to sell" to other males because they can be quite opposing.
Speaking at a press conference to promote 'The Expendables 3' in central London, he said: "Men are very competitive. They go, 'Who's that? I'm sure he takes diuretic steroids, you know, he's shorter than he looks.' It's very hard to do it.
"People think, 'Oh, it's really easy.' It's good to jump around but to get other men to like you, it's very difficult. Men are kind of stand-offish that way."
However, it's not just men that Sylvester finds hard to get along with as he joked one thing that really scares him in life is his third wife Jennifer Flavin, with whom he has three daughters.
He said at the Manchester press conference before moving on to London: "I am really scared of getting my wife p***ed off really. I am serious. I can't win.
"Really guys, it is genetically impossible. She just does not quit the debate. After a while I go, 'Ok you win whatever.' And my ears are bleeding. I am afraid of getting her wound up."
Sylvester Stallone had metal plate fitted after bad fall in Expendables 3
Sylvester Stallone had to have a metal plate fitted into his back after he suffered a bad fall while filming 'The Expendables 3', while Antonio Banderas picked up a knee injury in his first take which he carried throughout the filming process.
The 68-year-old star - who suffered a hairline fracture and had a metal plate inserted in his neck while filming 'The Expendables' in 2009 - suffered yet another injury to add to his lengthy list throughout his action film career and joked the latest addition to his body it has left him squeaking.
The actor - who plays main character Barney Ross - said: "I usually grade the quality of the film by the intensity of the injury.
"In this one I ended up really taking a fall on my back and ended up having some metal inserted in there so if I'm squeaky then it's not my shoes, it's my back!"
Antonio Banderas also revealed he, too, suffered while shooting the movie but his injury came in his first take, however he didn't tell his fellow cast members because he didn't want them to think it was down to old age.
The 53-year-old star added: "I got injured in the first take that I did in the movie. I carried the injury all the way through but I didn't say because I didn't want anyone to think I was getting older.
"It was running on the roof to the helicopter and I got pain in my right knee and it stayed there."
Last year, it was revealed Jason Statham - who plays Lee Christmas in the movie - nearly drowned while the cast were shooting the action film after a stunt went wrong.
'The Expendables 3' - which also stars action hero heavyweights Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford - is released on August 14 in the UK.
