Swap meet comes to Gatton

AS the adage goes, one's trash is another's treasure, and the same goes for unused items that have been sitting in your car or shed for years.

This Sunday thousands will descend on the Gatton Showgrounds for the Lockyer Antique Motor Association's (LAMA) annual swap.

Motoring enthusiasts will start arriving from 6am on Saturday to set up and start buying, selling and swapping anything from exhaust pipes to a chassis in engines, cars, bikes and tractors.

Visitors expecting to see a market-style scene of fresh produce, clothes and crafts will instead be faced with spare parts from every vehicle imaginable.

The swap gives people a chance to rid their shed of old, rusty tools and ephemera they no longer have any use for.

Others may be seeking a certain something to complete their dream restoration.

Gates open from 6am and entry is $3 for adults and children under 17 get in for free.

No dogs are allowed on the grounds and the show is held rain or shine.

A range of food and drink is on offer at the showgrounds and off-street parking is also available.

For more information contact swap meet co-ordinator Robin on 0407 113 209.
