Swans to make SCG their one and only home

THE SCG has been the spiritual home of the Sydney Swans since the club moved to the Harbour City in 1982.

And from 2017 it will be its only home with chairman Andrew Pridham confirming all home games will be played there from 2017.

The club has two years to run on its contract with ANZ Stadium, which it will honour, but Pridham (pictured) said feedback from members and fans suggested the SCG was the preferred option.

"We have received a lot of feedback on the current stadium arrangements and it was clear our members and fans located in Sydney, broader New South Wales and in fact Australia, wanted the SCG to be our one and only home," he said.

The agreement is expected to be a popular one, with the surface and location of the Sydney Olympics venue generating significant debate in recent years.

The Swans open their 2015 season against Essendon at ANZ Stadium on April 4.
