A BRISBANE Supreme Court justice on Wednesday approved strict bail conditions designed to limit a Sunshine Coast drug accused's movements outside of the region.
Justice Peter Applegarth imposed daily police reporting and a 9pm to 6am curfew on Tracey Thomas Starkey who is yet to enter any pleas to 12 charges including trafficking drugs, possessing dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of weapons.
The 52-year-old pensioner applied for bail on Wednesday.
Both the prosecution and defence agreed that daily reporting and the curfew would be a better "deterrent" from potential "offending" than having his relatives pay a surety to guarantee his next court appearance.
Mr Starkey was allegedly found with 1.35kg of marijuana when police stopped him while he was travelling through the Darling Downs in May.
Police claim he was driving from Victoria to the Sunshine Coast.
Mr Starkey will return to court on a date to be fixed. - ARM NEWSDESK
