Sporting treble for Lockyer High student

SCHOOL SPORT: Lockyer District High School student Keeley Dennien has become a representative triple threat.

Dennien, 16, put her athletic prowess to the test earlier this year by representing the Darling Downs in netball, tennis and softball.

At varying state competitions Dennien took on some of the best players in sport and enjoyed further success.

She helped her softball team claim fourth at one competition and progressed to be named in a Queensland development team.

In netball, Dennien’s Darling Downs squad finished seventh overall and in tennis she hit the court to see her team claim eighth overall.

Dennien said she had enjoyed the challenge.

“It was mainly playing as a team and I enjoy team sports,” Dennien said.

“You get to be around different people and meet heaps of talented girls.”

Dennien plays all three sports outside of school too.

“It gets me doing stuff and I enjoy being out and about because it breaks up my school work as well,” she said.
