Son arrested after he allegedly set parents' house on fire

A 38-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged for attempting to set alight his parents' house in Lismore.

The couple was awoken by their smoke detectors and extinguished the fire.

The man was detained a short time later by police.

He was charged and refused bail in Lismore court yesterday morning.
