SUNSHINE Coast Hospital and Health Service has advised that with flood waters rising in the Gympie area, the safety of their patients and staff remain their priority.

With this in mind, some services scheduled for tomorrow at Gympie Hospital have been postponed.

All patients who may be affected by this are being contacted today.

New appointments will be scheduled for these patients in the coming weeks. The Service encourages residents to stay safe, heed the warnings of authorities and not to travel through flood water.

Weather warnings, road closures and other important information can be found on Gympie Regional Council's website, gympie.qld.gov.au and social media.

For regular weather updates you can also tune into your local radio station.
