'So loved': Heartbroken parents pay tribute to daughter

A HEARTBROKEN Coolum Beach family is remembering their daughter and sister as a young woman who lit up every room she walked into.

Twenty-three-year-old Jade Overell died on Saturday night after her car crashed into a power pole on Bli Bli Rd at about 10pm.

She'd been visiting friends in Nambour and was headed back towards Coolum when the tragic accident took place.

Her heartbroken parents described their daughter as a much-loved woman who would always stand up for herself and her family.

"She was always happy," her father, Ben Overell said.

"When she walked into a room... it lit up."

Jade spent most of her life in Coolum, attending primary and high school in the coastal suburb.

She was contemplating heading to university soon and studying occupational therapy and also had plans to travel before her life was tragically cut short.

"She was so loved," her mother, Tracy Robertson said.

Mr Overell described his daughter as a hard worker.

"She was pretty popular and had a few close friends," he said.

"She was a really good kid. She was like my friend as well.

"She was just getting her life together. It's a big shock that she died."

Mr Overell said Jade was very close with her younger brother Brok, who'd been left devastated by her sudden death.

"She always stood up for herself and her family," Mr Overell said.

"She tried to be friends with everyone and had a pretty close circle of friends too."

Friends of Jade had started a Gofundme page overnight to help ease some of the strain on Jade's family, describing her as "purely amazing, inside and out".

"She touched so many peoples lives and has left a massive footprint in all our hearts," Kaylea Vines wrote on the Gofundme page.

"Your spirit will forever live on in everyone's lives you graced Jade. RIP beautiful girl," Sarah Richmond wrote on the page.

"A beautiful soul gone will be loved and missed R.I.P Jade Overell," Brandan Grant wrote.

Mr Overell said details of the funeral were not known yet as investigations into the crash were continuing.
