Six-a-side contest reaps funds

ON Saturday the Laidley Blue Dogs will help those who have been affected by the floods the best way they know how, by playing cricket.

Club member Chris Wilson said the club wanted to help out and that's why a six-a-side competition had been organised for Saturday at Bichel Oval in Laidley.

“Anyone is welcome with all proceeds for registration, canteen and bar going to the flood appeal,” he said.

“We are taking team or individual nominations.

“The first game will be at 8am with each team guaranteed at least two matches.”

On the day there will be a bar and barbecue running all day, as well as a multi-draw raffle.

The matches will consist of six overs per side with sides having either six or eight people in them, depending on the amount of nominations they receive.

There will be prizes for winning teams and the club is also hoping to have kid's activities/games as well.

Player registration is $10 per player and Chris has encourage teams to nominate as early as possible since the club can only cater for a maximum of eight teams.

Team nominations can be made through Chris on 0422 377 967 or by email at chris@maxcarpentergroup.com
