A Federal Court hearing has been adjourned until 2.15pm after Clive Palmer, who has been seen clutching a sick bag and breathing heavily today, asked for a toilet break.

When Mr Palmer arrived at the Federal Court earlier on Wednesday he declared the case was a "witch hunt" after failing to convince a judge yesterday he was too sick to turn up.

He was then seen lying outside the courtroom on a couch with a pillow under his head and has an oxygen mask or breathing machine, before heading inside.

After coughing on his way to the stand, he eventually told the court of his last meeting with nephew Clive Mensink.

After a brief appearance, Mr Palmer asked to go to the toilet and the court was adjourned until 2.15pm.
