BILL Shorten has named the team he will take to the next election.
The Opposition Leader has added two new women to his shadow cabinet frontbench, bringing the total females in shadow roles to seven.
Senator Katy Gallagher takes on the mental health, housing and homelessness, women's policy and assisting the leader on state and territory relations roles.
Terri Butler's new jobs are secretary for child safety and prevention of family violence and shadow parliamentary secretary to the leader of the opposition.
Other key changes included promotions for Senator Sam Dastyari and Dr Jim Chalmers.
Senator Dastyari is now responsible for school education and youth and will be the parliamentary secretary to the leader of the opposition and deputy manager of opposition business in the senate.
Dr Chalmers adds superannuation and financial Services, trade and investment, productivity and sport to his workload.
"It is a team of dedicated, talented Labor people that will drive Labor's policy development and outline Labor's positive plans for all Australians," Mr Shorten said.
"This is the team that will continue to hold the Abbott-Turnbull Government to account, as we have successfully done over the last two years."
The reshuffle followed the retirement of long-time Jan McLucas and Bernie Ripoll.
