13-year-old used knife to threaten woman at Ipswich school

A TEENAGER who allegedly threatened a woman with a knife at an Ipswich school yesterday has been charged with serious assault.

Police were called to Bremer State High School at 11.50am, after reports that a 13-year-old boy had used a knife to threaten a 46-year-old woman.

The boy was found in a nearby street a short time later and was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Police allegedly found two knives on the boy.

The school went into lockdown during the incident and the woman was not physically injured.

The boy was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.
