Senator’s push to keep XXXX flowing in pubs and clubs

A QUEENSLAND senator has stepped in to try to save the state's iconic beer XXXX from being turned off at Queensland pubs and clubs.

Labor Senator Anthony Chisholm has written to national competition watchdog boss Rod Sims urging him to stop XXXX rival CUB trying to shut off the Queensland brew.

It follows a Sunday Mail report that southern brewer Carlton & United Breweries was offering the state's pubs and clubs lucrative subsidies to turn off their XXXX Bitter taps.

The move has outraged proud XXXX drinkers at clubs including the Surfers Paradise RSL.
